Almost four years ago, when SwiftUI was still a new thing only gaining momentum in real-life projects, for the sake of experiment and research, I started a pet project embracing the state of the art of technologies offered by the Apple ecosystem and wrote a long blog post about my experience. After the post was published, I safely forgot about the app.

However, Apple is always in motion, and what was the bleeding edge four years ago looks almost as legacy code today. This year, I decided to modernise my app with all the new and shiny updates that Apple dropped on us since then and see where it would get me.

About the Project

The project is an open-source app called “Worm” that recommends books to you based on your favourite ones. Strictly speaking, it’s a one-screen tab-bar-based application with three tabs: In the main one, you can search for books and mark them…
