I disagree with how the question is formulated on the fundamental level. Nowt worths owt, if you don't enjoy doing it. If you come to work only because of compensation (in the broad sense), you're in the wrong place in any case. But if you're, say, a natural born programmer, nowt prevents you from enjoying coding. Next, it's just your choice of the company you work with: Whichever gives you interesting tasks and fair compensations, is great.
